In order to enable zebraweb to build a site to meet your business requirements, we provide this checklist to give you a head start and start
you thinking about what you want. The more information we can get from you with regards to what you want, the easier it is for us to know
your vision and implement it successfully.
The following is what you should invest your time in doing before engaging us for the website design and build:
Domain Name/URL
Are you already the owner of the domain or do you need to purchase it? If the latter, do you want us to purchase it for you?
Website Hosting
Do you have a website already hosted by another company and do you want us to host it going forward? There may be an additional cost for us
to use an existing host because they may not support the technologies we use to build a website in a quick, streamlined manner.
Research
Have a look around on the Internet and compile a list of websites you like as well as ones you don't. Both are very useful. If you can detail what
it is you like and dislike about each site, even better. Don't go overboard – best to provide two or three you like and dislike.
Planning your site
Determine your own site map and what you want exactly:
- How many pages do you think you'll want?
- What will each page be about?
- Will you want to have links to other sites from yours?
- Will you need a gallery or several galleries to showcase your product/s?
- Do you want to sell products online?
- Do you want to have payment facilities online?
- Have you a website already in place which you just want to update?
Timing
What is the timeframe you want the site done within?
- Do you want to do a phased delivery?
- Do you want the entire website completed and reviewed before being launched?
Company branding
Do you have a brand already in place?
- Do you need to engage us to develop a brand and image for you?
- Do you have a colour or font preference you want us to use?
- If you already have a company logo we will need you to send it to us on CD or via email if under 2MB in size.
Website content
You will need to provide all the text to be shown on the website and if you want images alongside the text, your preferred layout.
- Do you want us to engage someone to write, review and/or proofread the text of your site to ensure it all makes grammatical sense?
- All images and text need to be provided on CD or via email if under 2MB in size. If unsure contact us to check. Text needs to be in
standard Windows word processing formats or spreadsheet format.
Maintenance
Do you want to be able to update the content of the site on a regular, on-going basis?
- Will you want us to manage those updates for you? These can be sent via email or on CD or memory stick.
- Will you want us to build you an administration page to allow you to do so?
